What is Dysport and it’s functions?

Dysport is a fast-acting, long-lasting botulinum toxin type A medication that is used to temporarily reduce movement of certain muscles. For example, Dysport injection relaxes the facial expression muscles to remove or soften face wrinkles, such as frown lines between the brows. Additionally, it’s able to relax other parts of the muscles to improve the contour of the face, shoulders, and legs.

What to expect after Dysport injections?

You may see results as soon as 24 hours after Dysport injection, with a median time to onset of 3 days. The injection treatment generally takes 20-30 minutes, but may vary. Speak to your health care practitioner if you have any questions.

How long does Dysport injections’ effects last?

The improvements seen with Dysport injection may last up to 4-6 months. Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), life style, and previous treatment dosages are major factors on how long the Dysport injections’ effects could last.

Who is not recommended to use Dysport?

  • You are allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients
  • You have an infection in the muscles where it would normally be injected
  • You are allergic to cow’s milk protein
  • You have any muscle disorders in other parts of your body, including myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton Syndrome, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
